Orb
Orb is an enigma painting. There is no specific message or meaning intended. How an image makes you feel, or what it evokes from your heart and spirit is the essence of the work. Orb was inspired by a sunset in New Mexico. The low angle light was strong as it hit the Buffalo Grass in the fall. The light from the Sun made the image dance in my eyes as I stopped to enjoy the spectacle of another day coming to a close. Big skies and vast clouds are regular aspects of our Santa Fe life. Combining the two images on my digital canvas still left something missing. I created the Orb in the image and simulated the lens flare that is most often coincident with this optical phenomenon. My goal was to stimulate your imagination and give your eyes something more substantial to gaze upon while still evoking a sense of beauty and a world in harmony.
