Zion Sunset

Zion Sunset

Zion is a delightful surprise. You're cruising along the freeway trying to get from Los Angeles to Boulder and there's the exit.

Do you stop? You know you can't do a National Park justice in an hour. You have places to be! Nature can wait.

You stop for a short visit. And you know you did the right thing. Because it doesn't get much more spectacular than this. There is so much color it's overwhelming. The geology is incredible and you find yourself giving thanks to whomever had the sheer intellectual brilliance to protect this by making it a National Park.

I made two versions of this painting. One is the wide panoramic titled "Zion National Park." The other is this piece which is the left half of the panoramic, called Zion Sunset. There is so much detail that I've added this painting to the Image Navigator found on this web site under the Multimedia tab. Explore the painting and see what you miss from the small web page version. It's a trip in itself.
